Alternatively, we are able to obtain
the correct times of the New Moon and Sabbath through this link: http://www.sunrisesunset.com/calendar.asp
Using this link you can work out your new moons and Sabbath start/finish times for your area:
HOW TO WORK OUT THE NEW MOONS AND FEAST DATES: (using this source)
1. On the website above enter your nearest location (city) and enter month and year. Then click on
'submit'.
2. The first New Moon AFTER THE VERNAL EQUINOX is Yahweh's New Year, the first of Aviv.
3. The Vernal Equinox is the day containing 12 hours daylight and 12 hours night.
4. Look at Sunrise/Sunset times and find the evening to evening day containing 12 hours daylight and 12 hours night.
(don't cheat!) Be precise as this is the Vernal Equinox for your area. (Ours is
Manchester, Friday 19th. March 2010. We use Manchester U.K. for our location, yours will be
different according to where you live. )
5. For 2010 (in our location) for March the New Moon comes before the Vernal Equinox (therefore it
is still winter) so we go to the next New Moon which, of course, will be in April. This is April 14th.
6. So, the evening to evening day containing the New Moon is Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening 14th. April
after the Vernal Equinox. This is Yahweh's New Year for us (Manchester U.K.)
7. Now this shall be the beginning of months for us in Manchester. Click your mouse on May 2010 at the bottom of the
page and click. This will take you to the 2nd. New Moon which is May 14th Thursday to Friday evening.
8. From here on you can use Leviticus 23 to work out all of Yahweh's Feast days up to the 7th. New Moon on October 7th.
2010. (Tishri) The 1st. day of the 7th. Month. Chag Sameach (happy feasting!)
Note:
(These
times can also be found in any good Diary which includes the Phases of the moon, as these times are worked out from
the Astronomical and therefore from the correct New Moon times.)
We hope that these pages have helped you both to understand and work out the times of the Feasts of Yahweh and
the weekly sabbaths. May you enter in to the blessing to be found in observing these special times and seasons.
However, although this works for the majority of years, placing the Feast of Tabernacles after the Autumnal Equinox,
and thus in the fall, the year 2010 is peculiarly different. The New Moon in March 2010 falls before the Vernal (Spring)
Equinox and so part of the Feast of Tabernacles will therefore be before the Autumnal Equinox and will fall in late summer.
The individual will therefore have to discern and make up his own mind before Yahweh as to which New Moon he begins
his year with, either the one before (i.e. 15th March) or the one after (i.e. 14th April) the Vernal (Spring) Equinox.
