Biblical Feasts
The Biblical Feasts are very important to the Almighty. We read in
Genesis Chapter 1:14 "...let there be lights in the
firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be
for signs, (Heb. Moedim=appointed
times, i.e. Appointed Feasts of the Almighty:Sabbath,Passover,Unleavened
bread, Pentecost or Feast of Weeks,Trumpets,Atonement,Tabernacles;the
seven Feasts of the Almighty, Yahweh.) and for
seasons, and for days, and years..." He went to the trouble of creating the sun and moon for us to know
when He desires His Feast days to be kept. It is this important!
Sabbaths and New Moons
The Sabbaths described
in Leviticus 23, and in many other places in Torah, and in the Bible as a
whole, are of tremendous importance to the Almighty. Other than the weekly
Sabbath, from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday each week, there are seven
additional Sabbaths attached to the Feasts of Yahweh. He took great pains
in telling us when they were to be kept, and how. There are many
references to the keeping of New Moons in scripture, and these too are of
relevance to us as New Covenant believers.
Hebraic Dancing In Psalm 149:3 "Let them praise his name in the dance..." The word "dance" comes from the Hebrew word
"machowl" which means, "A round dance" or "people dancing together in a
circle." As we study the scriptures, especially Torah, we discover many
wonderful expressions of the holy Spirit which are part of our heritage as
children of Abraham, and dancing together is one of them. As you explore
this way of worship you will find that there is healing in the dance, and
a precious spirit of community which sometimes is lacking in our worship
together.
Ephraim and Judah In Ezekiel ch.37, and Hosea, and of
course many other scriptures, we read about the restoration of Israel.
This is a very wide subject, and many of us do not realise that the whole
house is actually meaning the whole 12 Tribes. All Jewish people are
Israel, but not all Israelites are Jewish. After the separation of the two
kingdoms under Rehoboam's rule, kings of Assyria came and deported the ten
northern tribes into Assyria. We do not hear of their return to Israel
(the country) when Judah (and Benjamin and "some" Levites) returned to
rebuild Jerusalem from Babylon. They were not united at the time of their
departure, and being transported to different countries, this did not help
in their relationship. We do not read about their coming together again,
as it did not happen in the times of the writing of scripture; it was only
prophesied. Many peoples of the world are descended from these Tribes, who
were indeed lost when scattered by the Almighty for their idolatry. There
is coming a time, which has already begun, for the restoration of the two
houses, and so "All Israel shall be saved." This is a vast and wonderful
subject, worth studying.
The Ancient Calendar
As we have mentioned
under "Biblical Feasts" the sun and moon play a great part in the mind of
the Almighty when it comes to our life in time. All ancient calendars were
worked out from the movement of the sun and moon. The Almighty planned
that we should live in time, and it matters to Him when we keep Festivals
to honour Him. There is a way of finding out the Ancient Calendar and how
it works, and we can find the times which are important to our Heavenly
Father.
Yahshua the Rabbi If we study the Gospels carefully, we are
able to discover that Yahshua was in fact a respected Rabbi of His day,
teaching His 'Talmidim' or disciples the things of the Kingdom. We
discover He wore the tzitzith of an orthodox Jewish man, and taught
regularly in the synagogue. We read of Him expounding the Law of Moses and
Torah to His followers, and of how He also completely walked in Torah and
the righteousness expected by the other teachers of His day. To read more,
